Job Requirements of Registered Nurse - Radiation Oncology - Full Time - Brunswick Campus:
What you will need:
- Graduate of a Diploma, or Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing degree
- Prior radiation oncology preferred
- Current RN license to practice in the State of Georgia

As a Registered Nurse in Radiation Oncology, you will provide compassionate care to Radiation Oncology Center patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working primarily with cancer patients of referrals, you will be responsible for managing care, monitoring patient movements and other nursing duties as directed by the Radiation Oncologist. You will develop and maintain positive relationships with our patients, guests, other team members, and medical staff by striving for excellence in service and quality. You will be responsible for:
- Effectively managing the care of assigned patients and ensuring efficient patient flow. Scheduling patient consultation and follow-up visits and works with staff coordinating other patient appointments.
- Performing and documenting a comprehensive nursing assessment to identify and prioritize patient physical and psychosocial/cultural needs, and developing plans of care within the established timeframe for the unit.
- Ordering and evaluating diagnostic tests and administering medications per physician order. Monitoring use and rotation of all dated materials to assure fresh stock (including medications).
- Evaluating and reassessing nursing interventions, based on plan of care, to determine patient outcomes and makes revisions as appropriate. Checking and filing progress notes, assuring accurate follow-up and timely sign-off by physician.
- Respecting the human rights and culture of every patient, family member and visitor who interacts with the department. Acting as the patient's advocate when age, mental status, knowledge deficit, or lack of social support mechanisms interferes with their ability to recognize or communicate health care needs.
